The Hub were appointed as Principal Contractor to transform certain key areas at the heart of the National Maritime Museum, Greenwich. This included refreshing and developing four zones; The Sammy Offer Wing, The Stanhope Entrance, The Streets and The Upper Deck to coincide with the opening of the new Endeavour Galleries in the summer of 2018.
The Hub appointed and managed specialist sub-contractors to carry out a wide variety of works including audio visual hardware, lighting and graphics, and coordinated these elements with the production and installation of The Hub’s own joinery and setwork elements.
One of the main elements of work was the detailed design production and installation of a new bespoke reception and ticketing desk for the Sammy Offer Wing. The Hub took the designs provided by the museums design team and developed them further for construction and built the desk off site for installation to take place at the museum at a later date. The fabrication of the desk involved in house joinery and solid surface works combined with the installation of blackened steel cladding panels.Photo Credit © National Maritime Museum, Greenwich, London
